Connected Apps


This section will walk users through the process of connecting Teams Manager with an External User Manager to facilitate seamless collaboration.


We will cover the step-by-step setup process, important prerequisites, and highlight key functionalities and settings related to this integration.


Prerequisites:


Before you begin, please ensure that you meet the following prerequisites:


· Guest access must be enabled in Teams Manager.

· The administrator in Teams Manager must grant the necessary permissions.

· The External User Manager application should be installed and properly configured.


When Guest Access is not enabled in Teams Manager, connection will be displayed grey and when user clicks on the icon, Connect button will be disabled. Hide Unmanaged Teams Toggle field will be disabled.

Connecting Teams Manager and External User Manager:


Follow these steps to establish a connection between Teams Manager and External User Manager:


Enable Guest Access:


In the Teams Manager, navigate to the Setup section and ensure that guest access is enabled. The administrator should grant the necessary permissions for smooth integration.


Access the Connected Apps Section:


Go to Teams Manager's Settings and Navigate to Expert mode tab. 


Click on Connected Apps link.


Click on Connection icon.

A new window will appear, performing a requirements checklist to ensure a successful connection.


Verify that the External User Manager is installed, its connectivity is working, and the current user has administrator privileges.


Lastly, ensure a valid license for the External User Manager is available.


Once all requirements are met, click the Connect button.


The status will change to "Connected" upon successful integration and on going back to previous screen, connection icon is displayed in green color.


Once the connection between Teams Manager and External User Manager is established, the following setting becomes available:


Hide Unmanaged Teams toggle field:


By enabling this toggle, you can hide teams in External User Manager that are not managed by Teams Manager. This feature ensures that users can only see teams that are under the control of Teams Manager, promoting efficient collaboration and team organization.

Force Guest Access in Teams Manager Policies:


In Teams Manager's Policies section, you will find a policy named "External User Manager handles guests." Enabling this policy ensures that guest users within Teams Manager are managed by the External User Manager. It centralizes the management of guest users and streamlines the administration process.


Disconnect:


Go to Connected Apps link.


Click on Connection icon.


Click on Connected button.


Click on Disconnect button and confirmation message will be displayed to user that user can connect back after a wait of 5 minutes.

NOTE: In policy, Force Guest user will be set to No Force when TM to EUM is disconnected.

 

This completes the functionality of Connected Apps section in Teams Manager.
