Remove Homepage from Sync Process
This section describes the functionality of Sync Setting "Remove Homepage from Sync Process" available in Collaboration Manager 365. This section explains for template type "Team Site(Classic)" and workspaces of type "Item". Steps for other types of Templates and other types of workspaces remain same.
1. Go to Templates page of Collaboration Manager 365 and Create template of type "Team Site(Classic)" with Template name "ClassicTemplate6.cm" using steps as described in section "Create Template"
2. Once status of template is "Completed", click on the link "URL". SharePoint page is displayed with default Home options.
3. Go to workspaces page of Collaboration Manager 365 and Create a workspace of type "Item" with workspace name "WS6" using steps as described in section "Create Workspaces for Template type "Team Site(Classic)" " and associate template "ClassicTemplate6.cm".
4. Once status of workspaces is "Completed", click on the link "URL" of workspaces. SharePoint page is displayed with default Home options.
5. Go to Templates page and select the template "ClassicTemplate6.cm". Click on link "URL".
6. SharePoint page is displayed and click on link "Site Contents" in left navigation. Click on link "New" and select the option "App".
7. List of available app will be displayed to the user.
8. Click on app "Tasks" and "Adding tasks" sub-page is displayed.
9. Enter the name as "Tasks-Project-CM" and click on button "Create". Tasks is added under "Contents".
10. Click on link "Home" and click on link "Page" in top left corner.
11. Click on link "Edit Page" in left corener. Click on link "Add a Web Part".
12. Select "Tasks" under Parts and click on button "Add". Newly added tasks "Tasks-Project-CM" is added in homepage.
13. Click on link "New Task" and enter task name as "Project Planning", enter start date as "6-Jun-2019", enter end date as "30-Sep-2019", select required used in "Assigned To" field and click on button "Save".
14. Click on link "Home", and newly added Tasks is displayed.
15. Click on link "Page" and click on link "Make Homepage".
16. Validation message "If you make this page the home page for this site.....". Click on button "OK".
Note: Click on button "Cancel" does not set the page as the home page.
17. Confirmation message "This page is now the site homepage" is displayed.
18. Select the template "ClassicTemplate6.cm" from Templates page and click on link "Save Template".
19. Refresh the page and wait until the status of template is "Completed". Click on the link "URL". SharePoint page is displayed with "Tasks-Project-CM" displayed in homepage.
20. Go to Workspaces page of Collaboration Manager 365 and select workspaces "WS6" and click on link "Sync Settings".
21. Uncheck the option "Remove Homepage from sync process" and click on button "Save".
22. Select the workspaces "WS6" and click on link "sync workspaces".
23. Refresh the page using key "F5" and wait until the status of workspaces is "Completed". Click on the link "URL" of workspaces.
24. SharePoint page is displayed with default homepage. The newly added web part "Tasks-Project-CM" is not synchronized with workspaces as this is removed using "Remove Homepage from sync process" from sync settings.
